Waldhausen Beris US Tandem Comfort Bit

We love this bit because it is great for controlling heavy and strong horses without being too harsh on the mouth.

This anatomically correctly shaped bit rests evenly and lightly on tongue and bars, and provides more room and freedom of movement for the tongue. When the reins are applied, even pressure occurs on the bars and tongue. No lateral squeezing of tongue and bars occurs. Bit guards prevent pinching of the lips.

Thanks to its domed shape, the comfort bar sits particularly quietly in the horse’s mouth. Mouthpieces with a slightly domed bar are considered to be especially gentle and kind on the mouth. This property combined with our Beris plastic enables horse and rider to enjoy an even softer and more comfortable communication. The comfort bar is particularly suited to young and sensitive horses.

The US Tandem is to be used with one set of reins. The pressure is distributed evenly between the horse’s nose, lower jaw and poll. More rein action puts more pressure on the bars of the mouth. Suitable for horse’s that are very sensitive in the mouth but can’t be ridden with a Hackamore only. The US Tandem has black flexible tubing for the nose band instead of bright blue nylon rope found on regular Tandem.
